Unique Hikes with Breathtaking Sights

The Zion Canyon is fifteen miles long and has an elevation of almost 9,000 feet. Examine geologic formations that have been left behind by previous seas. Coalpits Wash marks the lowest point in the park at 3,666 feet and Horse Ranch Mountain holds the highest peak at 8,726 feet.

The Narrows are a canyon through the Virgin River, with walls over 1,000 feet high and only 20 feet apart. This route is regarded as one of the best slot canyon hikes in the world. The Virgin River water is chilly and has slippery rocks so proper hiking boots and wet pants are recommended. The water depth varies from ankle to waist deep, traveling over rocks and waterfalls. There are breaks on solid river banks but the hike is an out and back so you can determine the distance you’re ready to hike. This stunning six mile hike takes you up a river bed between canyon walls.

The Subway requires you to pick up a permit at the visitors center, but this ten mile rappelling adventure is one of the most popular treks in Zion National Park. Pass dramatic rock shelves, waterfalls, and cascading pools throughout the steep canyons. The red rocks zig zag along banks and through the river so you can stick to the distinguishable path or explore on your own.

Angels Landing is known as one of the most dangerous hikes in the United States. It is one of the most popular trails in Zion even though people have died on this trail. This strenuous hike is full of some of the most beautiful sights in Utah. Be prepared for long drop-offs and a series of 21 tight switchbacks called Walter’s Wiggles. The Grotto, West Rim Trail, and Refrigerator Canyon offer even more routes for hiking in Zion National Park. After a day full of sights and hikes, return home to our hotel near Zion National Park in Utah.
